Happy Winter

Today I had an impromptu yoga flow on zoom with my friend Grishby that I also filmed live on IG you can watch here. My intention for the short practice was to ground the energy of the winter solstice and anchor in some playful and creative energy. To open our flow I pulled a card from the Garden Dragon’s Oracle which really grounded me into the present haha. The card was the “Pea Pod Dragon” which represents the spirit of “organization” in the “Field Guide to Garden Dragons” Oracle Deck! The card was certainly, most definitely speaking directly to me (LOL), but I wanna know if you all resonate with it’s as well.

According to the field guide that comes with the book, the Pea Pod Dragon has a “wide peripheral view” and breeds and thrives best in an “early fall to early winter” habitat, the EXACT SEASON that I’m pulling this card! It goes on to say “you will not find the pea pod dragon where it is hot and dry”.

The meaning that I pulled from this description of the dragon’s properties and habitat was that planning, organization, and time belongs to Capricorn, a Cardinal Earth sign that initiates the Winter Solstice. Capricorn’s ruling planet being Saturn aka Chronus, where we derive the prefix “chrono” to mean “time” in our language. Saturn’s distance from the Sun makes it a pretty cold planet.
On this side of our hemisphere we experience cold weather, which can be especially uncomfortable to lazy creatures like me. It’s also so easy to get trapped in a cycle of always working with no rest that stopping to get organized seems like a tedious task, especially these days where everything feels so unpredictable. The solution is a change in perspective and viewing the bigger picture (Sagittarius/Early Fall wisdom; the sign that precedes Capricorn), with a “wide peripheral view” instead of a small meticulous lens.
I have been inspired to take full control over my own life by incorporating more time spent towards organization. Instead of getting overwhelmed by all of the small details, it doesn’t hurt to take a few moments to dial down and get clear on your goals and the steps needed to take to achieve them. The mystical meaning goes on to say “when you actively take charge of your time, you find more time for all your activities”.
