2nd Trimester Update
I’m about 6 months in so far and the 2nd trimester has been easy like everyone said it will be. My appetite has fully returned, allowing me to eat whatever I want. During the 1st trimester I despised meat and only craved carbs like rice and noodles. Towards the end of the 1st trimester I craved frozen cheesecake! And Mexican food. My 2nd trimester cravings have been Panda Express orange chicken, loads of grapefruit, and pretty much anything with a sour taste. I’ve learned my sour cravings are a result of my body helping me build more digestive fire called agni, and rakta to help cleanse my blood, according to Ayurveda. This is why women typically crave pickles during pregnancy!
I’ve lost a lot of weight during the first trimester due to morning sickness but I’ve got my weight back and have gained over 20 pounds now. I feel so good in my body, I’m finally gaining the weight I’ve always wanted! I hope that God allows me to keep this weight that I’ve been wanting to gain for so long!
My little boy is kicking and so active in my womb. He is so responsive to my voice and my touch and my emotions. He hates when Mommy gets upset, he hates when Mommy and Daddy aren’t getting along, he hates when my body tenses up from stress. I tend to store a lot of emotions in my sacral and have always had a very responsive womb. Now with him occupying space in my sacral and solar plexus as he grows, he responds directly to these energy centers. I know when he’s annoyed with me because he’ll constantly kick me in the ribs or will start to get restless when I get restless. He responds to my excitement and to my intuition. I love the telepathic connection I have with this wise spirit. With him coming from the ethers, I know he has so much wisdom.
Pregnancy is such a 12th house experience. The 12th house represents the womb, mysteries, and the unknown. It is the chaos, the dreams and what is hidden of the creation that comes before the emergence and visibility of the 1st house. Just like the womb, the 12th house is a dark place, yet full of oceans and depth and hope. I don’t know what my baby looks like or what he’s doing in there, but I’m full of trust and faith to him Earthside. Diauni, @theheartdoula on instagram says, “the process of spirit becoming a fetus/infant is an intricate and dark one”.
