Hip Openers are an essential part of any movement practice, especially if you are seeking liberation.
I’ve been listening to Liz Koch @stalkingwildpsoas and she’s so right about how we live in a society that blocks the fluid movement of our spine and how it triggers a snowball effect of blockages in our communication, expression, and energy. She says in part to return more natural, the answer is in the hips!
This is also why twerking is so important to me. By learning about the spine and the psoas I understand why twerking lifts my spirits and removes blockages for me so easily. It’s literally natural. This is also why it’s so seductive because the fluid movement of the spine is instinctual. I could go on and on but I’m gonna do some more research on the PSOAS connection to the spine and mobility so I can much better explain this! For now I am practicing half pigeon as my go to hip opener as I work my way into full splits!
